La Spezia lies at the centre of an evocative and variegated area, which stretches from the green mountains of the Vara Valley to the rugged coast of Cinque Terre, from the Versilia beaches to the old towns of Sarzana and Luni.
Thanks to its central positioning and to a good transport network, La Spezia is the ideal destination to visit a wide region, which goes from Genoa to Florence.
Ferry boats, departing a few hundred metres from Residenza Viani, are the most suggestive means of transport to visit unique places such as the Portovenere archipelago (boats to Portovenere and Lerici depart every our) and the Cinque Terre. Mini cruises to Versilia coast and the Tuscan archipelago are regularly organised by the sailing companies.
Sarzana, the Magra valley and the Vara valley can be reached by bus or by train. The bus station is in Via Chiodo, a few minutes walk from Residenza Viani.
