Lerici and San Terenzo are situated on the eastern part of the Gulf of Poets, near the estuary of the Magra river.
Poets defined Lerici as the Pearl of the Gulf and described it as the most famous holiday resort of the Gulf, thanks to
its natural beauties and its fascinating old town.
Lerici has a medieval structure and is characterised by uncountable narrow streets running around the castle and by the sea
promenade, leading to the Venere Azzurra (Blue Venus) beach and to the town of San Terenzo. The latter hosts the castle and the
Villa Magni, where Percy Bysse Shelley and Mary Shelley lived.
Tellaro is situated a few kilometers from Lerici. It is made up of narrow streets, it is dominated by its church, built on the
steep shore, and is developed around the main square.
We suggest a tour to Montemarcello, a small village on the top of a hill, offering breathtaking panoramas on the Magra valley,
the Apuan alps, the Versilia, and the Gulf of Poets.
There is a ferry boat service, linking San Terenzo and Lerici to La Spezia. Other villages can be reached by bus. The bus stop is a few minutes walk from Residenza Viani.
